  • Most of our gel products can be washed and re-used multiple times for long lasting comfort and excellent value

Help for Patients with Haglund’s Deformity

Haglund’s deformity—more commonly known as “pump bump”—occurs when the bony enlargement at the back of the heel becomes inflamed and irritated. Oftentimes, this occurs as a result of friction from footwear, particularly stiff-backed pumps, dress shoes, work boots or ice skates. It can afflict either women or men. At Dr. Jill’s Foot Pads we offer several options to help relieve pain from this condition.

Heel Lifts—in some cases, structural defects in the feet increase the risk for Haglund’s deformity. One such problem is overly high arches. Heel lifts can help raise your heel and thereby reduce the pressure and pain. We offer a number of different heel lifts:

  • Red Rubber—extremely firm and long lasting, our Red Rubber Heel Lifts will never flatten.
  • Foam Heel Pads—J-22 and J-64 will fit most men’s and women’s shoe sizes. The Foam Heel Pads are latex free and available in several configurations.
  • Adjustable Heel Lifts—this versatile product contains 3 layers of resilient rubber that are 1/8 inch thick. Peel off one or two layers to adjust to ideal heel height for you. Suede leather top cover and tapered ends provide maximum comfort.

Warwick Heel Wedge—another biomechanical issue that can result in Haglund’s deformity is walking on the outside of your heel. The Warwick Heel Wedge actually helps improve foot position and walking habits. It is ideal for feet that turn outward or inward because the wedge is reversible. This product is hypoallergenic and latex free. It is available in sizes Small, Medium and Large.

Helping to relieve foot pain and aid in the treatment of podiatric disorders is a primary goal of Dr. Jill’s Foot Pads. Metatarsalgia Causes Ball of Foot Pain

At Dr. Jill’s Foot Pads we know if you are experiencing severe pain in the ball of your foot or the area between the arch of the foot and your toes, you may have metatarsalgia. This condition occurs when a nerve between the metatarsal bones becomes inflamed. Metatarsalgia has a wide variety of causes, including:

  • Injury
  • Being overweight
  • Morton’s neuroma
  • Poorly fitting footwear
  • Standing for long periods of time on hard floors
  • Arthritis
  • Foot deformities

Pads Can Bring Relief

Whatever the reason behind your metatarsalgia, we know that your primary concern is getting relief from the inflammation. Below are three products that will lessen pain and allow you to continue your daily activities while you heal.

Gel Metatarsal Pads

A soft gel cushion reduces pressure on the ball of the foot while walking or standing. Gel Metatarsal Pads also help minimize calluses. The soft, durable gel loop is soft and stretchy and will not get tight. Pads are available in two sizes: Regular Thickness and Double Thick Center. Designed for use in all styles of footwear, these latex-free pads can be washed and re-used multiple times.

Poron Metatarsal Pads

The thickness will remain constant and the pad will not flatten or bottom out. The back is fully adhesive for accurate placement. Available in multiple sizes.

An incredibly comfortable gel cushion is inside tan colored fabric which wraps around your entire forefoot. Offering superior cushioning, this versatile product has no toe seam so in addition to easing ball of foot pain on either foot, it can also be positioned to protect bunions. Summer Fun Can Cause Achilles Tendon Problems

Summer often means time for vacation and leisure activities, as well as taking advantage of nicer weather for outdoor fun. At Dr. Jill’s Foot Pads, however, we know that extra exertion, particularly if you are used to a more sedentary lifestyle, can cause inflammation of the Achilles tendon. This long tendon that runs down the back of your lower leg from your calf muscle to your heel can become irritated due to overuse or sudden exertion. Left untreated, it can lead to debilitating pain and disability. The best way to avoid Achilles tendon issues is by gradually increasing physical activity and resting when the tendon feels sore. People who have flat feet have a higher risk of developing Achilles tendonitis.

Your Podiatrist will be able to prescribe the best treatment for your Achilles issues. While you heal, we have a few products that can be of help.

Achilles Heel Sleeve—slip on this supple fabric sleeve which contains a soft gel pad inside and you’ll experience immediate relief for your sore tendon. The Achilles Heel Sleeve protects the back of the heel from friction and provides gentle compression to reduce pressure around the hurting area. The pads in this product are washable and can be re-used many times. Latex free, it is designed to be worn with all styles of footwear. The Achilles Heel Sleeve is also helpful if you are suffering with Haglund’s Deformity.

Sore heels are often a byproduct of Achilles tendon problems. Heel pads and lifts are two solutions for relieving pain and stress on the heels. We offer several varieties:

Adjustable Heel Lifts—three layers of resilient rubber are 1/8-inch thick and can be peeled off one at a time to adjust to the perfect heel height to give you maximum comfort.

Felt Heel Pads—we offer these in a variety of sizes for men and women. The heel pads come in several different configurations and are latex free. See styles J-64 and J-22.
